The present moment

I’m not sure if words or silence tend to cut deeper into my existence, in pain or clarity of understanding in the reality that is. The world only exists as I see it and sense it around me which in my current state is solitary and calm. Outside of it, there is chaos, hate, death, hunger, suppression, lies, bullying, and slews of heartless people that roam. I see a hint of hope in the younger generations, as they rise into the age of responsibility and their ability to vote, speak, and make a difference. Yet, it is only a hint of hope so far. Hopelessness still lingers like the mist of the morning dew with the humans who try in the depths of their being to be kind-hearted or those who strive to be good humans, even if flawed, and even if at times they fail. There seem to be many of us, but we rise with empathy and compassion, which seems to be overwhelmed by anger, hate, greed, and war with those who remain heartless, and unwilling to be kind, learn, change, and grow.

So many put on smiling faces and exude acclamations of love, but within they hide a tumultuous darkness that abandons and evades any kindness, empathy, or compassion, that some of us actually attain. In my youth, I found abuse and abandonment, and damage was the consequence of it. As I grew, I began to heal, and as I healed, I learned that those closest to me who were supposed to love and support me were the ones abusing me knowingly or in their ignorance. In my solitude, presently is the closest I’ve ever come to peace, yet peace cannot exist in a world like this.

My voice has always been small and has only gotten smaller. My purpose can only be in my desire to learn of this place and once it’s fulfilled, I have no need for it anymore. I do not think that I will be missed by many or that many will show up in my absence as so few have shown up in my presence.

My writings will live on for strangers to read in the digital world to appreciate or scrutinize as they see fit. One thing that I have learned in my existence here is that I have never belonged here, and I have no desire to remain here, outside of my curiosity about this place. Being human, the most intelligent species on the planet is also the most vile.

I attached to a word in my youth, the word was love. It became something I longed for but my ideals of love were skewed by abuse and abandonment, as I grew from a child to an adult. I realize now that’s partly why I was never able to obtain it and hold onto it, and I assumed because of indoctrination of tales told long ago, that I was undeserving of it in its so-called purest form. As I’ve gotten older, I realize that that does not exist, humanity is far too selfish to be able to obtain and provide in return, what love could truly be. It was one of the few things that I longed for, now all that remains is my curiosity in this place once it is seen through to my desired state, or my exhaustion overruns at all, I will finally find peace, but it will not be here.

My theory on the mass increase in ignorance

There has seemingly been an extreme increase in ignorance in the United States, and possibly the world. I have a theory of why this is and what it stems from.

Historically speaking, most people before the 1980s had limited knowledge depending on financial means and what they had access to via their location or ability to travel, to acquire more knowledge. Not everyone had the ability to get college degrees or even finish high school a couple of decades earlier. All they had to go off was what was in the news, or if they chose to go to a Library and read and learn, but not everyone had the motivation for that. Many were busy in their careers and making families and did not have an interest in furthering their knowledge, and educating themselves about things outside their small view of the world.

In the 1980s technology changed in leaps and bounds with the Internet. People now have information at their fingertips in ways that have never happened before. Figuratively speaking, the knowledge that you could gain online became in comparison to that of a master’s or doctorate from college that could be earned decades ago in various things or an ability to gain a more in-depth understanding of specific things. The knowledge gained can be a vast array of things, there is so much we can learn about so easily. The older generations did not adjust well to this boom in information and most of them don’t know how to use the Internet properly. This allows them to be easily manipulated and lured into conspiracy theories and lies used to manipulate and control them.

Another aspect of this is from a neuroscience perspective. When we are not infinite learners, we do not create new neural pathways in our brains. Reading the same documentation over and over again does not create new neural pathways This in essence is a form of brain damage, it doesn’t make accepting change or learning new things impossible but it makes it much harder for people to learn and accept change. Again, there is a lack of motivation to want to learn new things. Some of this has to do with the damage done because of lack of use with the brain and some of this is pushback from religious perspectives. Many religions teach their people not to think critically or learn information from outside sources. This in and of itself maintains control of their minds, and their ability to stand in reality with the rest of us, and learn and see what is going on so that we are not manipulated by those that would lead us into doing wrongs or evils that are immoral from a human standpoint. Even though morality can be subjective there should be still a base perspective of morality that all humans should carry and that is that we cause no harm to other humans. Unfortunately, it is not a base of most religious perspectives of morality, because they see only their way as being moral, whether it harms people or not.

If you put all those things together, you have two sides, a population of those who accept the reality that is, those who continue to learn and accept the change that is present in the world, and the people who remain ignorant be it willful ignorance or due to the damage they have endured neurologically because of abuse, trauma, and/or lack of building new neural pathways in brains. There is also one more outlying group, those people who seek to control the rest and force their beliefs on others, oppressing and causing harm to many in their wake. Love, empathy, and compassion will only be found in the first group as a whole. The others are not mindful of people unlike themselves or who do not live in their small view of the world to have any care or concern for them, if they do carry any empathy, it is constrained by their limited knowledge and personal perspectives that may not be set wholly within reality.

Knowledge is the enemy of ignorance

Indoctrinated from birth with the version of a mythological god, I finally found my freedom and it’s been almost ten years now. This is not what I initially had set out to do, I just wanted to learn, to be devout, to love my god, and be the best I could, once I uncovered the truth, I had to replace fiction with facts, I had no other choice. Denial of the truth does not make it factual. Facing reality for what it is was not easy at first but I learned to see the beauty of it. The hard part is dealing with people who live in an alternate reality and no matter how many facts you give them, they deny them endlessly. Knowledge is the enemy of ignorance to those unwilling to learn and cope with the truth of reality.

Palestine and Religion

“President Biden says Hamas must be eliminated, but he supports Palestinian statehood. This has been the U.S. policy for decades.”

I was very curious as to where Biden stood on this and thought that I would be completely opposed to what he might say about what’s happening overseas. I have to say though, I do agree with him, Palestine deserves statehood. From what I’ve learned so far, the state of the Palestinian people at the hands of the Israeli government should be seen by the entire world as inhumane and unjust. There truly is no other way to see it by the state of the people there, half of them being children.

The one thing that is burdensome to all peoples of all races, and all nationalities, and will always be is religion. As Steven Weinberg said, “With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil – that takes religion.” I do question his statement though, because how could someone who is innately good do something that is innately evil? There has to be some form of hatred or disdain inside them for those they are willing to commit such atrocities against. So is it possible for any of us to be innately good entirely? I would think it is not at this time, but as we become less animalistic in our ways, maybe there is hope for that in the future, but I digress. Religion will always cause conflicting beliefs and wars because each believes that their own is the one and only way of truth. When it’s been proven repeatedly, that none of them are of truth.

I would like to learn more about this, so if anyone has any book recommendations about Palestine, please share them. It is my assumption that I have very few connections that are intellectual, or that care about anything outside of their own territory and themselves. Which is very depleting and disconcerting. This division of territories, races, and peoples will never work. Even though I do agree that Palestine should have it’s on statehood at this time, I do think that there will never be peace in the world until we learn to take care of each other, and rid ourselves of such selfishness and division that is so deeply ingrained in all of us.

Religion is dying

Religion is dying, but its death will be a slow one. Where in the past many remained ignorant and controlled by the few, there is now a wealth of knowledge to be gained and accessible to all. In this and the active healing of trauma, embracing of empathy, and emotional intelligence in the new generations, morality is no longer in most spaces encapsulated in whyteness but in the inclusivity of all, and the darkness and psychopathic ways of religion are more visible to many. Technology has forced critical thinking on all of us to some degree. This is part of the reason why many of the older generations refuse to learn it beyond the very basics. They fear change. This is very likely partly due to the fact that they have not utilized their intellect, being infinite learners, but are stuck in an endless cycle of immoral religious propaganda and reading of the same book therefore not building new neural pathways in their brains and causing damage to their brains by lack of use. Another contributor could also be the mental and emotional abuse that religion demands because this also damages the brain. In turn, they are unable to think critically or accept change. It’s not impossible for them, but it’s much harder for them to do, and takes work that they are unwilling to do. At least, this is my take on this at the present moment, there is much I don’t know but am always willing to learn from other perspectives.

The Tower of Babel

In posting this meme, someone stated, that there were different intentions.

Technically, nowadays, if let’s say what I was taught was true, that pride and arrogance were the reason, men like Trump, for example, have buildings much higher than they could have possibly built then, for the exact same reason, and they do harmful things to many people, most of their lives, and end up rising to power. Trump, in fact, boast about his building, being the tallest in New York around 9/11, when the twin towers collapsed. Many men today have the same intent, and there has been complete silence from a god.

So let’s dig more into this.

These are the verses that talk about the tower of babel from the King James version of the Bible, one of the currently over 3,030 versions available digitally.

Genesis 11

1And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

————-

What I was taught growing up was that these people were arrogant and prideful, and were trying to build a tower to God because they wanted to be god. It doesn’t say that in the verses at all, nothing in the text implies this. They were simply trying to do something great and learn and work together, so if they were scattered they would be remembered. Many of the pharaohs of Egypt did the same thing with the pyramids to be remembered, many of them did it as well, to be worshiped as gods.

Historically speaking, there is zero evidence that language is traceable back to one specific place.

If god is omnipresent, why does he continually have to come down? Many times it mentions God having to come down, that God heard things, or ask what’s going on down there. This is completely contradictory to the fact that God would be an omnipresent or omniscient being.

The tower of Babel happened post flood where God wiped all of humanity off the earth because they were evil. Again, an instance, where an omniscient God had regret which is contradictory to the persona that is laid out of God in the Bible. So in some sense it seems like the people are doing good for themselves, they are unified and living in peace, and they want to make a place for themselves and yet God again has a form of regret towards his creation and punishes them yet again. This punishment was not with floodwaters but with confusion. So, instead of killing them, God made things more difficult for them.

Why would an all-loving, all-knowing, all-present God seek to manipulate and confuse his creation? You as a parent want to see your children, grow and flourish, to do and be the best that they can be, right? This shows God’s complete opposition to humanism. Humanism is the potential value and goodness of human beings, for the betterment of humanity. Which in essence would help feed the hungry, sick, and poor of our world, but even as some of us strive to do this after thousands of years, there are still so many who struggle. Yet, there is silence from above or if god truly does hover amongst the creation, is just watching it all happen. Being omniscient god knew it would all happen, and being all loving, again makes claims of God’s persona contradictory. This also negates, the mention of free will because God is intervening in human doings. So God chooses to intervene when we succeed in things that are considered great (or as I was taught arrogant and prideful), but yet when there are starving, hungry, sick people and innocent children in the world, God just watches and does not intervene.

In drawing confusion, god basically told us that we could do anything if we worked together, but he would not allow it. Nowadays so much has been allowed, and there has been no pushback for the growth and creation of things from humans for millennia. Why would he make a creation as intelligent as we are capable of being then shame us and shun us away from being great? If god didn’t want us to be able to be this intelligent, why create us this way? In drawing confusion amongst his creation, he also made it a lot harder for people to be able to acquire his books, which would not come about for thousands upon thousands of years. The books were not written until 30-90 years or more after Jesus was said to have been alive.

If you think about things now too, especially with the advancements that we’ve had as far as technology goes. We are now able to send things into space to explore not only our planet but other planets in our solar system as well, why not stop that? One part of what science is doing is not only discovering what’s around all of us but also trying to find evidence for the existence of a god in some senses.

Another point is that in that day and age, all they had was brick and mortar from basic materials, they did not have steel and other stronger materials to create a building that could go super high, which God should have known there was a limit to this. From what I gather in researching, if there were no elements such as wind, weather, or earthquakes, it’s possible that depending on the precision of the bricks and the strength of the brick they made to build with, a building could be built 3400 m high. Back in that time, though it is less likely that they would be able to build a tower that high because of the materials that they used as quoted above “they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter,” of course, with different Bible translations they will change it to something different as far as the mortar material goes, such as tar.

Feedback is welcomed as I could have missed some perspectives on this and am open to learning other perspectives.

Philosophy, history, and government.

“Quite literally, the term “philosophy” means, “love of wisdom.” In a broad sense, philosophy is an activity people undertake when they seek to understand fundamental truths about themselves, the world in which they live, and their relationships to the world and to each other.”

I do not fit in this world, I’ve never felt as though I did. I am beginning to learn spaces of reality where alone, I do kind of fit, philosophy is surely a space where I can exist. It’s a rather lonely space when you are surrounded by willful ignorance and a lack of desire to gain knowledge and wisdom. Though I logically know I am not alone in this space, others reside here or have in the past.

We as humans should all have a great desire to absorb wisdom and history, so that the vileness of history is not repeated. I can also understand that people are exhausted, we have become slaves to money, to the rich (corporations), to those in power who are supposed to be in service (ignorance of their actions got us here), and to capitalism. Our country is on the verge of being a f@scist nation, and many have their heads in the sand or are bogged down as slaves of money and capitalism which is right where they want you. As exhausting as it is to add one more thing to your plate if people don’t learn to carry this weight, their children and grandchildren will pay for their lack of concern for what is happening in this (US) country.

Some politicians in office see their positions as positions of service, they are transparent and so far not corrupted by money and corporations, but they are few. AOC, Katie Porter, Cori Bush, Jasmine Crockett, and Maxwell Frost are some of them that I am aware of at this time. I hope that GenZ and GenA will as they are seeming to, March in with compassion and empathy for each other, something prior generations lack, and make this country a better place for all its people.

Political Blame Shift , Willful Ignorance, and Awareness

Trump made a speech where he said he was running against Obama and trying to keep us from having World War II. Where is the outrage from Republicans on his words and his actions?

One of the things that I’ve noticed with Republicans is that they constantly blame shift and reference some Democrat or liberal persons who did such and such when something happens. They’re doing the same with the bullshit with Lauren Boebert. These people are responsible for their actions. It doesn’t matter what someone did 12 to 15 years ago, they have hopefully been held accountable for their actions. These people need to be held accountable for what we are aware of that they have done in recent times that they have not already been held accountable for. If it is a Democrat doing something or a liberal person doing something that they should not do, they need to be held accountable as well. We do not defend the people on our side of the aisle that do things they should not, we believe they need to be held accountable for their actions PERIOD. No person who holds any form of office is above the law.

These positions are supposed to be positions of service not positions of power, and they have turned them into such. Until we can get people back in office who are in positions of service and treat it as such, we are going to consistently have an issue in our country. Not only that, but the fact that so many people on the right are so uneducated and are so easily manipulated or the fact that those politicians feed their racism and hate for others is pretty mind-blowing. They essentially vote against their well-being because the politicians tell them one thing and then their actions show another. If you ask them what bills their politicians have put forth that help the lower and middle class they can’t name anything. I have asked repeatedly and I can’t get any information out of anyone to state a bill that’s been beneficial for the lower and middle class, that the Republican party has put forward or that the Dems have put forward that the Republicans have not voted against.

It seems more and more like people just don’t care, they vote walk away, and live their daily lives without paying attention to what these politicians do. They don’t care what’s done, but this will eventually affect most people probably not white males, but it’s obviously affecting women no matter what race already. If you all do not start paying attention to who you were voting for and putting into those positions, states will crumble or this nation will fall the entire world watches this country, and the literal amount of shame that we should feel for the shit that goes on in this country is immense.

I still have hope because of Generation Z and Generation A, these kids have more compassion and empathy for each other, as well as a desire for equality amongst their peers, than those before them. The boomers failed us, and my generation has succumbed to massive amounts of abuse, lies, and indoctrination from the boomers. We have filled them, but the age of information, and the fact that they know how to use it, reliably with critical thinking, will allow them to save themselves.

Change

Accepting change takes some form of mental strength and authenticity. We have learned over time that we are not right about everything, and the more science learns the more things change i.e. technologies, psychology, or cures for diseases. It’s boldly telling throughout history, that so many things of the past or just simply untrue. Many of us want to evolve and change for the betterment of our species and the planet. Those who push back on this are hateful and weak in mind. Clinging to old ways because “that’s what you were taught,” in many ways is completely clinging to ignorance and causes the growth of humanity to proceed so slowly. The biggest change in our age has been technology, and there are still so many people who do not know how to use it and who can be easily manipulated by things that are part of it because they choose not to learn. This is quite literally the age of information. There’s so much access out there to so many different things that a lot of people spend their entire lives, studying, and researching to find truths and help with growth and gaining of knowledge. There are also many skeptics and other researchers trying to debunk those things, which is good, because if one misses something, the other may find something that’s more helpful, beneficial, or closer to a solid truth or betterment of whatever that may be.

Politically speaking, historically, my country (US) is going through the same wave of depreciation and growth. It is blatantly obvious through historical account, and even people in countries are aware of the flux of our political system. Yet for some reason, so many people on the right, do not see the depreciation of the political figures that align with their ways, and how they have manipulated them and made them vote against the betterment and growth of our country and their personal well-being. They have used hate and fear-mongering for decades to acquire votes. Their people are not worried about the actions that they take when they are in office, but what feeds their ego, their hate, and aligns with one of their millions of versions of religion. They have no desire for equality and do not care about what is harmful to others, they are a selfish brood of people.

Vaccines are another example. The reason the generation before mine has scars on their arms, and I do not is because vaccines have worked. The absolute foolishness for people to deny what’s been proven time and time again is willful ignorance. I guess in some way the rejection of this knowledge is a form of survival of the fittest because many of them will lose their lives for the ignorance, they so desperately cling to and if they don’t lose their lives, they will likely end up with serious health issues throughout the rest of their lives.

Parenting Mistakes of The Past

If only I’d known then what I know now, I’d never have once spanked any of my girls. I wish this knowledge had been available back then.

None of us can take back our parenting mistakes of the past, but we can love our kids and help educate them to be better than ourselves as parents and humans in general in the future. The more we learn about the human mind, the better we can become as humans, minus narcissistic people. It is possible, that even some of them may be able to get help if they have the slightest will to be a decent human and they make an effort to get help for their mental state. I do understand that some narcissistic people are born with a narcissistic brain, but others have acquired narcissism from a lack of nurturing. The more that we learn about the human brain, and can heal from our traumas, therefore not passing them down to our children, the less likely we will have narcissistic people that acquire narcissism from lack of nurturing, or abuse.

Healthcare for all has to be implemented soon, in America. Other countries are doing it and thriving. If America does not do this at some point soon, we will crumble as a society, and be mentally, emotionally, and physically weak in comparison to those in the rest of the world. That is if we don’t already appear to be so, but it is highly likely that we do and are because of the hate, willful ignorance, and damage that has been done by most of the older generations of our time. Religion has indeed been a driving force behind so much of this, and people who aren’t willfully ignorant are starting to become more aware of this as the world begins to see great declines in religion in countries that educate their citizens about history and as technology reaches across the world and more people have access to information.
